Organization Mission Statement Our Objectives: House DuChasse has existed for more than twelve years. At first, we grew slowly with many bumps and spills. Since History Alive 2005, however, the House has grown rapidly and created a reputation for excellence and excitement that no other Medieval Group in Virginia can match. House DuChasse is different from most Medieval Reenactment groups. We are "Historical Performance Re-enactors". Presenting a variety of historical as well as fictional events and encompassing a time line (1235 -1335 A.D.) allows the opportunity to widen our horizons. We can welcome characters from a larger selection of locations and backgrounds while we focus on any noteworthy events from this period and beyond. The House has already experienced the courts of King Henry II and King John, the light heartedness of Mid Summer's Eve, and a spoof of St George and the Dragon. We have also been a vital part of two television productions. As we expand and improve, we strive to define ourselves and maintain a sense of identity. This series of documents has been designed for that purpose. The house will continue to grow and change as each new person brings fresh energy and ideas, so please feel free to share any thoughts that you have. We look forward to growing with you! Remember, in the end, We are only as good as our last event. Five Founding Principles 1. This is not a job. Come if you want to. Tell us what you want to do and we'll figure out how to make it work. 2. We're here to have fun. If its not fun, then we need to talk. 3. All it takes to be a member is to show up... And do the job you agreed to do. 4. There is no King in House DuChasse. We cannot succeed if we don't all work together. We have no designated ruler, only those who step up to lead. Anyone can do it. 5. No green Felt Hats. If you're going to do something, then do it right. The Council Personal Objectives What are WE doing at an Event? What will YOU be doing at an Event?
